How Many Custom Boba Cups Should You Order?
The most common question new shops ask us is also the hardest to answer for them: how many cups should I order? Order too few and your per-cup cost stays high and you’re reordering constantly. Order too many and cash sits on a shelf. Here’s the framework we walk shops through.
Start with your weekly drink count
Estimate how many drinks you sell in an average week per cup size. A new single-location boba shop often lands somewhere between 800 and 2,000 drinks a week once it’s established. Split that across your sizes — most shops sell more of one or two sizes than the rest.
Match order size to reorder comfort
Custom printing gets cheaper per unit as volume rises, so there’s a pull toward large runs. But for a first order, we usually suggest 4–8 weeks of supply per size. That’s enough to earn real volume pricing while keeping your artwork flexible — if you tweak your logo or menu, you haven’t committed to a year of cups.
Mix sizes to hit price breaks
You don’t have to order each size in isolation. Combining sizes in one order helps you reach the next volume tier, lowering the cost on everything. We’ll show you where those breaks land for your specific mix.
For a first custom run, order roughly 4–8 weeks of supply per size, mix sizes in one order to reach volume pricing, and keep your artwork on file so reorders are effortless.
